St.Anton skiing holiday in Austria

So the skiing season is amongst us. We went to St. Anton, Austria this year; just the six of us; Jon (R), Tony, Simon, Richard, Len and Myself. We had a great time (as usual). The resort is just fantastic for skiing and off-piste; we skied more off than on piste this year. The powder was great due to a fresh dump of snow on the Tuesday.

No serious injuries, except Simon who challenged an ice slope to battle. Unfortuneately the slope hit back hard and we suspect dislocated his shoulder; it could of been worse! The drinks were very expensive, but we were on holiday. I have produced a small video. I managed to take a helmet camera which did not take great video but caught some of the action.

The Red Bull team were there for a few days and we saw them larking about at the top of the mountains; very impressive. Those guys know what they are doing. More to come later.

skiing holiday 2005 – obergurgl

Skiing 2005 was to Obergurgl. What a wonderful place to go skiing, and we had perfect conditions. The motly crew on view (dangling from a chair lift) is Richard, myself, Len and Simon (one of the snowboarders – well you’ve got to humour them…).

We all had a great time on and off piste. Obergurgl is a great resort; easy to get to (Exeter to resort in around 3 hours), great scenery on the flight in, and an easy coach trip from the airport to the resort. The ski runs are mostly quiet (even at the weekends) and there’s great fun off-piste through the trees. Boarders love it, especially as it gets tonnes of snow.
